Again, we welcome you to our office. You will be greeted and met by the front desk Appointment Coordinator who will provide you with initial paperwork to fill out. Upon completion of paperwork, you will be greeted by our friendly Treatment Coordinator who will answer initial questions you may have. Your initial visit allows us to get to know each other and begin a process of helping you learn about orthodontics and discovering your needs and concerns. We dedicate substantial, quality time for our first visit to build mutual trust and understanding. This process enables us to develop the enjoyable relationships with our patients; the foundation for all successful orthodontic results.
At the first visit, we take the time to get to know you or your child as a person. While talking or interacting, careful recognition of speech patterns, movement of musculature and how the dentition works in harmony with the skeleton is occurring. Already, a plan of action is being formulated with treatment options in mind. A clinical examination is then performed. Because of Dr. Beaber’s unique experiences working as a general dentist, TMJ specialist and orthodontist in the Air Force and private practice, over 250 areas of the dentition, skeleton and temporomandibular joint are examined with the most pertinent data recorded. A review of results and concerns is then discussed with potential treatment options presented.
Because the clinical examination may not fully reveal all dental or skeletal concerns, it is imperative to take impressions of the upper and lower jaw. This may be accomplished at the initial consultation and reviewed at the next visit. Additionally, you or your child will be scheduled to take and review a panoramic and cephalometric x-ray as well as diagnostic photographs.
Toward the end of our first meeting, our Treatment Coordinator will review the patient’s needs and discuss financing options. We will schedule you for a time to start treatment or any additional records needed.
