About the Doctor

Dr. Will Beaber was born in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1966, the son of a university professor and Colorado native. Dr. Will spent his formative years in Columbus, Ohio before his family moved to Kansas in 1977. He graduated from Topeka West High School and then attended the University of Colorado, Boulder on a Navy ROTC scholarship. While at CU, he was actively involved in research and was Project Team Leader for the Getaway Special project, a biological experiment slated to fly on one of the space shuttles in 1990. He graduated in May 1990 with a BS in Chemical Engineering.

Initially slated to be a naval aviator, Dr. Beaber had his front right tooth fully avulsed when a routine grounder took a “bad hop” during a softball tournament. A country dentist came in from his Sunday morning brunch to reimplant the tooth. Dr. Beaber spent one visit a week in the dental chair for the next six months with a dentist who restored his teeth and his smile. The accident occurred nine months after finishing 27 months of orthodontic treatment. While sitting in the dental chair, Dr. Beaber picked up the lingo and asked many questions about the procedures that were occurring. The dentist recognized this interest and suggested he pursue a dental degree. This encouragement was also extended by his orthodontist with the suggestion that Dr. Beaber’s talent might be better utilized as an orthodontist because of his engineering background. One year later, Dr. Beaber was accepted into Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, the premier dental school on the East Coast.

Because of his Navy commitment, Tufts granted Dr. Beaber a deferment of enrollment for three years. Subsequently, he attended Surface Warfare Officer training in San Diego, California and was then stationed on the USS White Plains (AFS-4) in Apra Harbor, Guam before deploying to the Persian Gulf shortly after the first Gulf War. He served 22 of his 31 months at sea, received several decorations and awards before moving to Boston to pursue his dental degree.

Additionally, while in school, he worked as a dental assistant for two years and a dental hygienist for two years. Prior to graduation, he was offered and accepted a scholarship from the Air Force.

After dental school, Dr. Beaber was stationed at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado. As a general dentist, he performed over 1000 root canals, placed over 1000 crowns and bridges, and completed over 100 veneer cases. After three years, he was selected to attend the Air Force orthodontic residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated first in his class and was assigned as Chief of Orthodontic Services at Spangdahlem Air Force Base, Germany, a position normally reserved for a senior officer. He serviced the orthodontic needs of over 15,000 service members and their families before returning home to private practice in the suburbs of Denver, Colorado.

Away from the office, Dr.Beaber, his wife andrea, his two daughters Lauren & Lexie and the newest addition to the Beaber household baby Jonathan enjoy spending time as a family. Together they enjoy the Colorado outdoor's life, family karaoke nights, playing video games, and traveling.

With almost 16 years of dental experience, very few orthodontists can match the experience of Dr. Beaber. As a staff, we look forward to treating you or your child’s orthodontic needs.
